About me

Hello and welcome to Love makes the Home.

I'm Sofia, born in Lisbon but raised in Johannesburg, South Africa.  This is where i studied Fashion Design.  Not long after I graduated I made a big move to the South of Portugal.

Living in the Algarve was great with the delish food, beautiful beaches, great weather, needless to say many of my summers were spent dancing at beach parties with my true love and soaking up the sun.  Then i grew up and had babies!!!  During this fabulous time I discovered my passion for Interior Design.  I was very fortunate to work with some very talented designers.  I learnt a lot from my colleagues and my clients and this was my foundation for when I began freelancing.  

Then last year life took a sudden turn and my family and I relocated to the magical City of Cape Town.  This City has a way of making you smile everyday.  (Could it be this mountain?!)  I am still discovering Cape Town and as I do I will share it with you.  

So far you know that two of my favourite things are fashion and interior design, but it doesn't stop here.  I'm also a lover of food, entertaining, great restaurants, traveling and being on holiday with my family, all of these are dangerous for my waistline! 

I am just crazy bonkers about my family and fun time with them is very important, so crafts, baking, outings and more are things we enjoy together.
